Nurse Assistant Training
This 90-hour program teaches skill and theory that focus on the six principles of care and will enable participants to provide quality care for residents in long-term care facilities. Fifty-five skills are taught that range from taking blood pressure and respirations, personal care and grooming to communication skills. The program fulfills the State of Michigan requirements. Upon successful completion participants receive the Red Cross completion certificates and pin and will be eligible to take the Michigan Nurse Aide Competency Evaluation for State Certification. Course fee is $1000.00 for private pay enrollment or $1050.00 for non-private pay enrollment. Day and evening sessions are offered monthly.
Requirements:
- Nurse Assistant Training Canidates must provide proof of a completed Michigan State Police (MSP) Criminal History Background Clearance prior to course enrollment
- A minimum sixth grade reading comprehension.
- Must have negative PPD TB skin test or chest x-ray Diploma/GED not required.
- Participation in this program does involve some physical exertion. NOTE: Lifting is a required program skill.
AM Sessions meet 9am-3:30pm
PM Sessions meet 5pm-9:45pm
